Jacob J. Yahm was a writer, a negotiator, and an administrator. He was a leader in cosmetology accreditation and educational criteria. He was also the recipient of the N. F. Cimaglia Award.

The above bas relief is located at the National Cosmetology Association Hall of Fame.
