"The Alphabet Chair" by Sarah Peters is Unveiled at the
Lewisville, TX, Public Library
August 21, 2010

The Lewisville Public Library hosted an unveiling event for "The Alphabet Chair" by Sculptor Sarah Peters during their back-to-school celebration on August 21.

Sculptor Sarah Peters provided a hands-on demonstration of the method used to create the reliefs of the sculpture. Children participated by creating reliefs from local plants using play-doh. Sarah also answered questions about the lost-wax process.

The donation of the sculpture was a project of the Friends of the Lewisville Public Library. Additionally, sponsors of individual letters were recognized at the unveiling and on the dedication plaque.

The sculpture is the first piece of public art for the City of Lewisville.
