Sculptors
Tuck Langland
and Karryl descended
on the Bensenville, IL, Community Public Library in November of
2009, where Director Jill Rodriguez had scheduled young students
for a week of sculpture classes.
The
students worked in wax with Tuck Langland on Tuesday, preparing
various sculpted creatures, some of which will become part of the
bronze sculpture that has been commissioned by the library with
Langland. The new sculpture will be unveiled at the library's 50th
Anniversary Celebration in May of 2010.
Karryl
worked with classes for the remainder of the week, with students
creating whatever clay figures they desired. Karryl told the students
they needed only to bring two things to her classes: their imaginations
and their hands.
Through
May 2010, the Bensenville Community Public Library is enjoying over
sixty sculptures on display by Sculptureworks. The sculptures represent
the works of many of the sculptors in the Sculptureworks Consortium.
